Makeup Monday: The Body Shop's Dragon Fruit Lip Butter

I love it when companies sell products for worthy causes.  The Body Shop Foundation, established in 1989, works closely with The Body Shop to help fund various projects and charities, "...working for social and environmental change," (The Body Shop Foundation, 2014).  All profits from the Dragon Fruit Lip Butter help to fund different charities, such as Womankind Worldwide (focuses on gender equality & women's rights) and The Orangutan Foundation.

I ended up purchasing 12 of them, and have included them as gifts for friends and family.  Every little bit helps, and if they support a charity or project that you support, I highly recommend you try it out.  It is a fast-absorbing, lightweight lip butter with a fruity and slightly floral scent.  The product is travel-friendly (always a plus) and will save you some room in your quart bag if you fly.  Did I mention that it lasts a long time?  There is no sweetener in it, so if you're expecting something similar to Lip Smackers (am I the only one who is sad they've been sold and are being re-branded?!  I think they're wrong; things will change.  Bye, bye to a large part of my childhood), you will be a bit disappointed in that regard.  The product also comes in a pot, not a stick, which I don't really care for.  That being said, the proceeds went to a worthy cause and it's a high-quality product, which made it all worth it.  On the USA site, they are currently 2 for $10, as part of their travel products promotion.  Make sure you apply the lip butter sparingly, otherwise it'll give you lips a lovely white tint.

Do you have a favorite TBS product?
