A WONDERful Disney Cruise: Days 3 & 4

The Halloween Tree.

Lunch on the deck.
Heading towards Cabo.

It was a beautiful day at sea.  The water was calm, and we enjoyed a burger on the deck by the pool.  Since it was lunch time, we went to Cabanas to see what there was for lunch.  The carving stations were open, and there were several seafood options as well as kid-friendly foods (i.e. chicken strips, fries, macaroni & cheese, etc.) and desserts.  We sampled the shrimp dishes, which were well seasoned and not overcooked and a couple of pastries/puddings.  We never took large portions because (1)  You can come back for more, and (2)  We weren't sure if we were going to like it.  After walking around, we went back to the room for room service and a movie.  In case you couldn't see a pattern, we pretty much ate, explored, and slept.  Of course we participated in many activities, but there was method.  Why not live it up while you're on board?  We had the second seating for dinner, which is the latest time (8:15, I believe), and our dining place changed to Triton's.  I ordered Chateaubriand, mushroom ravioli, and crème brûlée.  The meat was very dry, but the ravioli were nice.

Several characters were out after dinner, and while we didn't wait in the lines for photos, it was fun seeing them all interact.  Daisy was dressed in her finest and Chip & Dale were ready for the opera.  After dinner we went up to the gift shop to get a few things, and so much was already sold out!  Even the cast members couldn't believe it.  Stock that normally lasts at least 2 cruises was already gone.  We bought what we needed to get and left.  Later that night, we went up for some hot chocolate and a pizza slice from Pinocchio's.  We sat under the stars and just took in the ocean breeze.  After that, it was time for sleep.

It's either a bear or a dog.
I'm thinking dog. Either way, it's cute!

We woke up in Cabo San Lucas.  From the ship it was beautiful.  Hot and humid, with flies all around, but that aside, it was very pretty.  Port days are nice because so many people get off to go shopping, which leaves the ship relatively empty.  We can take our time with pictures and further exploration.  Yes, the ship is a finite area, but there is so much to see!  We went up the Cabanas for lunch, and originally sat outside.  Unfortunately there were so many flies, we had to move back in.  Crafts followed lunch.  This time it was 3D R2-D2 and Yoda figures.  By the time we were done the Mouse-Querade Party was about to begin.  Mickey and his pals all came dressed in their costumes and put on a little show that included a pop of confetti.  The ship pulled out of Cabo, and off we went, back towards San Diego.

A little bit of everything...well, almost.

After the show had ended they had one more 3D craft, which was of the cruise ship, so of course we had to do it.  Kids were able to get some candy at different locations throughout the ship.  Part of me wishes they had trick-or-treating for adults too.  Before dinner we went out on the deck to take pictures of the sunset, and boy was it beautiful!  The night's menu was California-themed, though none of it in the combinations they served, with the exception of the California roll, was anything I had ever seen.  I had soup, ravioli, and sea bass.

The sun going down.
It's almost gone.

Pepe enjoyed the 3D craft.

Everyone went up to change for the adult-only costume party, complete with a contest and DJ.  The signs on the walls said, "Halloween isn't Just for Kids".  They were right!  There was some dancing after the costume contest, but most people left as it was getting late.  Our final sea day was approaching fast.  It was so odd.  It seemed like we were gone for ages, but that it also went by fast.  We had an early brunch date at Palo, and went back to the room to get some sleep.  The seas were slightly rougher, making a lot of people seasick.  Luckily we weren't that affected by it.
