FabFitFun: Fall 2017

The un-boxing.
I received this quarter's FabFitFun box just before we left, and was so excited!  It's a bit like Christmas (well, the consumer part of it), but quarterly.  I love hats, plus I needed a new gym bag, so this box already came with two things I was looking forward to.   Since I ended up upgrading (the only "upgrade" is being able to pick certain products and/or colors) I was able to pick most of what was in the box.

As I said, I needed a new gym bag, and while the Private Party gym bag ($59.00/ea) is incredibly small, it's very functional.  There were multiple phrases to choose from, but if you don't have the yearly subscription, you got whatever they chose for you.  I picked "Meet Me at the Barre".  There was also, "Gym & Juice" and "Will Workout for Cupcakes".  The image doesn't show the denim texture, and the bag itself is a much darker blue.

100% Polyester, and so, so luscious!

There have been a lot of complaints that the boxes are coming with too many scarves, wraps, and similar fashion accessories. Personally, I like having them because each product serves a different purpose.  The Mer-Sea scarf ($98.00/ea) came in one of three colors:  Blush ombre, Teal ombre, or Gray ombre.  Normally I take the gray or black options, but this time I decided to add a little color with the Teal ombre.  It is beautiful and so plush!  It is perfect as a scarf on cold nights and adds some decor to your bed, couch, or wherever else you need it.

The color (left) and balm (right).  I wish
the balm could be twisted down so it doesn't
hit the cap.

trèStiQue's lip crayon ($28.00/ea) is a duo featuring highly pigmented color and a lightly tinted balm.  The two colors to choose from were:  Florence Fig & Rose and Tuscan Wine & Syrah.  I loved both colors, so I let the FabFitFun team pick one for me.  They chose Tuscan Wine, and it is very pretty; perfect for fall!  I love that the cap for the color is magnetic so it won't come off easily in my bag.  Both, the color and the balm, and not sticky.  You can apply the balm over the matte lip color to add a bit of shine, or use them on their own.  It looks like a much more deep wine color on than the photos lead you to believe.  It's not a bright reddish-pink.

If I remember, I'll update with a photo of it on.

Our next choice was between a beanie and a belt, in one of two colors.  The color was a surprise: black or nude pink for both items.  I LOVE beanies (so obviously that's what I went for).  I have been looking for a slouchy one like Jetset's ($49.00/ea) for ages.  It is loose enough that anyone can wear it without it being too tight.  In my case, I got the black one, which is what I was hoping for.  I'm not a fan of pink.

This is about the size of a mini/travel nail polish bottle.

Deco Miami makes nail care, nail polish, and sells some shirts and pins.  We received the lavender cuticle oil ($12.50/ea), which is nourishing and fast-absorbing.  Initially it was difficult to unscrew the top, so I didn't think I'd be using it.  A can grip worked to loosen the cap.  In my opinion, the lavender sent was somewhere between a soap and bathroom cleaner.  Not the best, but not the worst when it comes to scents.

If only their sample-size came with this applicator!

I have been using vinegar in my hair for awhile now.  I received a sample of dpHUE's ACV rinse ($35.00/ea), I think in a Sephora Play! box, or as a promo code... can't remember.  Anyway, it works well for me and doesn't leave my hair smelling like a salad.  I was hoping to get a full-sized one.  Good thing I didn't buy it because our final choice was between a charcoal tooth powder & brush or the ACV rinse.  Some people prefer to use the rinse prior to shampooing because the oils are a bit too much and leave hair a bit greasy.  I always use it after shampooing.  I condition my hair from the base of my neck down (I have long hair at the moment), and only apply the ACV rinse to my roots.  I then rinse with cool water.

The IMM Liiving jewelry holder ($33.00/ea) is probably the one thing I was most disappointed in.  It looks like something I could have purchased at Target for $3.00.  The metal wire wasn't bent properly, so it took some rigging to set it in the base.  The finish also flaked off as the end of the wire was inserted; not the best quality.

Can't wait to try this out!

myTagalongs carries a wide range of organizers, fitness accessories, and more.  In this box, everyone got a hot/cold pack ($15.00/ea), which I was grateful for.  It couldn't have come at a better time, since my abdomen is always so uncomfortable, especially during my period.  To be honest I never thought to buy one, and would just heat a towel... now, I can have relief within seconds and it's reusable!

I've tried other Whish products, and while the scents are nice, the product quality doesn't reflect the price.  Each box this quarter contained the Whish Renewing Mud Mask ($48.00/ea).  One thing I liked about the mask is the pump. The mask is supposed to clarify, cleanse, and renew the skin with just a thin layer.  It works like the peeling gel or rolling cream peel masks.  Apply a thin layer, leave it for a few seconds, and then use circular motions to exfoliate.  After rinsing, you're left with soft, clean skin.  I was happily surprised.  My skin wasn't tight, and the moisturizer/makeup I applied after was flawless.
