FabFitFun: Summer 2018! + Add-ons

Image
So, we're a little late to this un-boxing.  Illness is the worst, especially when you don't know the cause.  Anyway, onto the highly-anticipated FabFitFun summer box for 2018!  Disclaimer:  This post contains affiliate links.  We get a small something to use for add-ons when our affiliate links are used. A quick look at our box items and add-ons. The Box Since its launch, we know some people were not knocked out over this box, but we loved it!  It contained a lot of wonderful products that are especially good for travel.  FOREO did an exclusive launch with their LUNA fofo ($89 retail), which provides a personalized skin profile.  The full app is now available, and you can read more on how to use the device here .  Each box not only contained the fofo, but also a Pier 1 Marble Trinket Dish and COOLA Face Sport Sunscreen/Moisturizer SPF 50 ($32 retail).  The Pier 1 dish was okay.  The quality isn't the greatest-- you can see ...

FabFitFun: Fall 2017

Image
The un-boxing. I received this quarter's FabFitFun box just before we left, and was so excited!  It's a bit like Christmas (well, the consumer part of it), but quarterly.  I love hats, plus I needed a new gym bag, so this box already came with two things I was looking forward to.   Since I ended up upgrading (the only "upgrade" is being able to pick certain products and/or colors) I was able to pick most of what was in the box.  Image courtesy of shopprivateparty.com As I said, I needed a new gym bag, and while the Private Party gym bag ($59.00/ea) is incredibly small, it's very functional.  There were multiple phrases to choose from, but if you don't have the yearly subscription, you got whatever they chose for you.  I picked "Meet Me at the Barre".  There was also, "Gym & Juice" and "Will Workout for Cupcakes".  The image doesn't show the denim texture, and the bag itself is a much darker blue. 100% Poly...

FabFitFun: Summer 2017

Image
I absolutely LOVED the spring edition of FabFitFun (I should probably finish my review), and was equally impressed with the summer box.  Since I don't subscribe annually, and I probably should, I never know which designs will be in my set.  Everyone knows I hate pink, with the exception of the Cheshire Cat.  The summer box had pink in three of their items:  bkr bottle, Michael Stars ruana, and travel tag/passport set.  Luckily, I received the blue bkr and blue ruana.  I also received the Salted salt kit, necklace from kris nations, a collagen pack from Vital Proteins, Cargo HD bronze highlighter, Juice Beauty Smoothing Eye Concentrate, Way of Will massage oil, and Eau Thermale Avene SPF lotion.  I love that these items are travel-friendly, especially since we will be traveling quite a bit. FabFitFun [in a] box!

Image
There are so many subscription boxes and programs out there now that it is hard to keep track.  Recently, I purchased the FabFitFun box to see what $49.99 could really get me.  I also used a promo code that got me two extras, but one has not arrived yet.  For first-time subscribers, they have other promo code incentives, such as $10.00 off your first box. I had seen the FabFitFun ad plastered all over my Facebook page , so I decided to see what others thought about it.  The reviews were generally positive, so I signed up, and my box was shipped 10 business days after I placed my order.  The site does mention that boxes will ship 10 business days after payment, unless (1) you have signed up before, or (2) the box is sold out.  In that case, you have to wait until the next season's box.  You can upgrade your membership as well, which will allow you to customize your box, for $20.00 more/month. When the box arrived, I thought, "Damn, this is heavy!"...

Birchbox: This Time it's like Christmas in July!

Image
So I walked down to the mailbox, and was greeted by the July Birchbox.  I started my subscription last year, and after the June box had seriously considered cancelling.  Boy am I glad I didn't.  The July box features the following:   A benefit mini they're real mascara, mini Stila liquid lipstick (I received the shade Venizia), a travel-sized Oribe dry hair texturizing spray, a deluxe sample of COOLA 's cucumber SPF 30 sunscreen, and a deluxe sample of Dr. Brandt 's microdermabrasion (one of my favorite exfoliators!). I haven't had an opportunity to try everything just yet, but as soon as I do, I will have a review.  Did you receive the July box?  I would love to know your thoughts on which product(s) did or didn't work for you. Also, if you haven't subscribed but would like to, click here to sign up.  It's easy and you can cancel at any time. Stay beautiful!

Subscription Box Sunday

Image
I have been thinking about doing a subscription box piece over the weekend, so here we are. Sorry the photo is a bit wonky!  These were the items in my Birichbox this month.  Oops!  I forgot to include the hair mask packet. This is my fourth Birchbox , and so far I have been really pleased.  There is always a variety.  In this box, there was a lip crayon by mirenesse , small sample of eye cream by Supergoop !, small sample of No. 4 clarifying shampoo , small sample of No. 4 hair mask (not pictured), Cargo blush , and travel-sized Oscar Blandi mousse .  Unfortunately, the shampoo's cap had come unscrewed, and leaked everywhere. The shampoo got all over the other products, and was partially absorbed into the box & wrapping tissue.  Each box is $10.00, though it is cheaper if you subscribe for multiple boxes at a time.  Shipping is included, which a nice.  At first, I was unsure if the price would be worth it; so far, it has....
