Fashion Friday: Be Kind to Your Feet with Sanuk's Yoga Chakra Sandals

Image
Sanuk boasts that they make the most comfortable footwear.  In fact, their motto is, "Never uncomfortable."  From what I have bought and experienced, I have to agree.  The Yoga Charkra Sanuks are a pair of my favorite sandals!  They are, hands down, the most comfortable sandals I own.  Each pair is partially made from yoga mats (how cool is that?)!  When I put them on, my foot just sinks in, similar to when you lay on a foam mattress.  My feet always feel a sense of relief; like they are thanking me for cushioning them so well.    There are so many different styles , patterns, and colors of Sanuks to choose from, and they are incredibly lightweight.  No matter where I am traveling, I always take a pair of their sandals.  Whether I am spending a whole day trekking around the Disney theme parks, traveling about this beautiful world, or just out for a stroll, these are my go-to sandals.  I have quite a few pairs of sandals...

Fashion Friday: Where'd Ya Get Those Earrings?

Image
My current collection. Aren't these just some of the cutest earrings?  They are made my Shelly and her team at Nerdy But Still Girly.  You can learn more about her shop my clicking here .  The earrings in the top row are all inspired by some of my favorite things:  The Sims Plumbob, R2D2, and Felix the Cat.  I am, and have been hugely into The Sims even though Sims 4 has been, more or less, a huge downgrade...I cling to the hope that it will get better, and will save my rant for a gaming post.  R2D2 is my favorite character next to the Ewoks, and I grew up watching Felix.  The bottom row contains Disney cartoon and The Golden Girls -inspired characters:  Madam Mim, Ursula, The White Rabbit, The March Hare, and our favorite geriatrics: Dorothy, Sophia, Rose, and Blanche.   Cling earrings come in two parts. This is how my earrings travels. I love that the cling earrings ($12.00/pair), which measure about an inch, c...

Fashion Friday: Just Cavalli Sunglasses

Image
When I was at Nordstrom Rack , I saw these Just Cavalli sunglasses , and they spoke to me.  Okay, not in that way.  You know when you walk into a store, see an item, and you just have to have get it?  Well, that's what happened. Image courtesy of ebay.com Image courtesy of ebay.com They fit well, protect against harmful UV rays, and the lenses/frame are large enough to provide excellent coverage (without looking like I have bug eyes).  These sunglasses go with everything, too, which is always a plus with any accessory.  They come in three colors:  gradient smoke/gunmetal (the kind I purchased), shiny rose gold/brown mirror, and gold/gradient brown.  Since I am more light-sensitive, I chose the smoke gradient lenses.  I'm also not a huge fan of gold and don't care for pink, nor brown lenses.  They were at Nordstrom Rack for $50.00.  Those of you who know me know I don't normally spend more than $30.00, but this was w...

Fashion Friday: The Little Things

Yesterday was another Friday, and this time the post gets a little bit more personal.  Sometimes, it's not all about the hottest trends, it's about the little things.  Before my grandfather died, he had made a bunch of jewelry out of sterling silver and stones.  When he died my cousin, Sarah, gave me one of them.  That way, we both had something made by him.  I could never express how much that meant to me, and when she unexpectedly passed a few years later, I could never have been more grateful.  It has given me so much, because I can associate it with fond memories, conversations, and holidays I've had with both of them.  I can also turn to it when there are those days where I really miss being able to talk or hug them, and just need a little time.   The following Christmas, my grandma gave me a small box.  In it was a scarf that had belonged to my grandpa.  She knows I always wear them, which was the reason for her giving that ...

Fashion Friday: Oh Kale Yeah!

Image
I saw Bad Pickle Tees at a craft fair and purchased a couple of tanks and a tote.  They print on my favorite tanks, by American Apparel , and carry other t-shirts, totes, and kids apparel at reasonable prices.      I bought Oh Kale Yeah! in gray, and the soba tank in a royal blue: Picture property of Bad Pickle Tees Picture property of Bad Pickle Tees They are so comfortable!  It's like when you find the perfect shirt; you always want to wear it.  The other great thing is the sizing.  I can wear anything from a small to a large in this tank.  When they are washed, they do not shrink (if they do, it's not noticeable), and take up hardly any space if you decide to travel with one.  Tanks can also be layered, so keep that in mind when choosing a size.   I also bought this tote (Dimensions:  14 1/2"W x 15 1/2"H; 22"L handles): Picture property of Bad Pickle Tees      This heavyweight canvas to...

Fashion Friday: "Baby, It's Cold Outside!"

Image
Today is Friday, which means it's time to discuss something related to...you guessed it...fashion!  It's been quite chilly here over the last week or so (okay, cold for us in Southern California).  I, personally, have to wear layers and layers to keep warm.  Unfortunately, for feet, it's a different story.  You can't always wear several layers of socks, which is where these come into play: From Merryn, 2014. These moccasins were a gift from my friend, Merryn, in Australia.  I cannot tell you what a godsend these are!  From soft and warm lining to the durable outer material and sole (so I can wear them outdoors), these are the best!  I have, literally, worn them every single day, all day (until bedtime, of course!).  Never again will I have to worry about my feet or toes freezing, especially when I head to the desert or mountains.  Find a pair to fit your winter needs, here . . From Grandma, Christmas 2013. Also, speaking of ke...
